30A - Final Reflection

The most formative experiences that I had throughout my time in ENT3003 would have to be the interviews that we were required to conduct regarding our venture concept. These assignments were difficult at first as they took me outside of my comfort zone to interviewing individuals about something that I was truly unsure about. After the first interviews, it becomes easier to conduct the next one and then the next one after that. I really enjoyed these as they allowed me to get a better sense of what needed to be developed and what college students were needing in their lives. I identified the need through interviews then developed the concept based on other interviews with the same targeted customer segment. I realized that gathering feedback from potential consumers is the best way to move forward with the development of an idea, product, or service. Venture Concept No. 2 Opportunity             Throughout the entire idea development process, ENT3003 has done an excellent job of structuring assignments to move its students forward very quickly with the necessary aspects of developing a comprehensive product/service idea. Over this period, the first step in coming up with an idea is recognizing that an opportunity exists for the creation of a product or service. Being a college student at the University of Florida over the past 4 years, I have always been annoyed by the constant struggle of trying to find a seat in any of the campus libraries. The University of Florida is home to over 50,000 students and with a limited number library seating it is extremely difficult to find a great place to study. 28A - Your Exit Strategy

1)     For my exit strategy, I intend to not be on the management end of the application for very long. Depending on the success of the app, I would like to sell the software as quickly as possible and move on with my life. 2)     The reasoning for picking this exit strategy is because this is not something that I am passionate about at all. I do not want to be in this field and truly do not have an interest in the type of service I would be providing. This would be something that I did to address a need that I and others have had but not something that I want to be providing long term.
