18A - Create a Customer Avatar

My customer avatar is the average college student. College students are a very diverse set of individuals so it is very difficult to pin point exactly what my avatar looks like but I will base it off my own experiences. My customer enjoys hanging out/going out with friends, watching movies, exercising, and playing video games. In between all the responsibilities that he has from school and involvement on campus, he enjoys relaxing as much as possible. He drives an older silver Nissan Xterra that he hopes to get rid of when he leaves college. He is a 21-year-old student that is enjoying his college years fully. The biggest pet peeve of his is the fact that it is so difficult to find seating in a library. They feel happy but also nostalgic that college is coming to an end. I have a lot in common with the avatar because I am also a college aged male with similar hobbies, wishes, desires, etc. I th...

17A - Elevator Pitch No. 2

1) https://youtu.be/aaTTn_5O7-A 2) The feedback that stood out to me the most was Luke Farmer's comment stating that I could have used the time for the elevator pitch to speak more about the logistics of the app and how it would provide the service. Autumn also told me that I should have raised the camera view to be more level with my face and provide a better angle during the video. I believe that I tried to do both of these.  3) Based on the feedback, specifically Luke's, I believe that the feedback altered my way of thinking about my idea. I am now more focused on developing the logistics of how the application will work rather than making sure the idea has the potential for success.

15A - Figuring out Buyer Behavior No. 2

1)     I interviewed Ryan Emery, Kara Spierto, and Drew Burgelin for this assignment. These candidates are fourth year students at the University of Florida. 2)     In my specific case, there are not many alternatives for the product/service that I am working towards developing. When speaking to the three interviewees mentioned above, I realized that when it comes to library going students they are looking for convenience and ease of access to quality study spaces. Between the three students previously mentioned, the only true alternative option mentioned during the interviews to my library-helper app is the DIBS system at UF, which only applies to study rooms in campus libraries. Other quick fix solutions involve texting friends and hoping they have seats by them or just going home/finding a different area around campus. I believe this is why my idea is so unique is because it does not compete with other existing products. All three ...

14A - Halfway Reflection

1.      In order to complete this course and to get the most out of your experience within this class, I believe there are a variety of different behaviors that the student must utilize. It is important to be organized and efficient with the assignments. I would suggest that taking your time with the assignments and with thinking about ideas is very important. You do not want to take the easy way out and give 50% effort that results in the class being more difficult down the ride. If you give the time to the course at the beginning of the class and begin to hone the skills that the assignments try to bring out of you then the rest of the class will be much easier. 2.      I really felt like giving up when I was attempting to think about my “Bug List”. It was very difficult to identify 20 bugs of mine. This assignment specifically required me to think in a different manner than I am used to. I wanted to give up but powered thro...
